Ruben Studdard hasn't lost faith in his music career. The American Idol winner is set to release a new album on May 19th. This will be his fourth album titled, Love IS, and it will be composed of many love ballads. Studdard hopes to re-connect with the audience that voted him through to a win on the second season of the show.

[Image via: AmericanIdol.com] All of the songs on the new album are all-time personal favorites of Rubens, plus a few new ballads written and performed by Studdard. Love IS features covers of many classic love ballads such as Michael Jacksons “I Can’t Help you", Al Green’s “For the Good Times,” the Beatles' “The Long and Winding Road," and one of my favorites-- Extreme’s “More Than Words.” . A full-scale concert feftour, in-store appearances, and radio shows are also in the works to accompany the release of the album this Spring. Apparently, the soulful 'teddy bear ' has become somewhat of a work-a-holic while on haiatus. Sources cite he is very eager to get back in the studio to begin working on his next album!
Welcome back to the love ballad game Ruben! Do you think Studdard will make an Idol-worthy comeback? [Via billboard.com]

Lil’ Wayne recently lost a civil lawsuit concerning a documentary film based on his life. The film gives the audience a glimpse inside the public and personal life of the controversial rapper. There are scenes offef the rapper reliving his first sexual experience as well scenes portraying his personal drug use. The film was reviewed by Wayne’s camp, and the rapper's manager made a request for the "defamatory" scenes to be removed from the film. When the film debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, the scenes were still there, and shown to the audience! Wayne and his manager filed for a request for a preliminary injunction with the Los Angeles Superior Court, but the motion was denied. Had it been granted, it would have kept QD2 (The production company) from distributing the project. QD2 stands by their statement that they have made a truly remarkable film that showcases the extraordinary talent of Lil’ Wayne. The documentary is scheduled to be released this year. My only question is… If you didn’t want this in the film, why would you have talked openly about it to reporters and an entire film crew? I guess bad publicity is still publicity, right? Just sayin'… Go here to check out the trailer for the documentary. [Via: Billboard.com]
