This year's “Comin’ Home Festival” will take place over Labor Day weekend (Sept. 5th and 6th) on a 4,000 acre ranch in the hills of scenic Wytheville, VA. The property houses the old, haunted mansion of former Confederate major, David Graham, and is now second home to GrahamFest founder, Josiah Cephas Weaver. Market America Executive VP, Dennis Franks and his Second Look band are set to open the event from the Market America Stage, and tradition will continue as an array of talented musicians is set to bring down the house! Sad, sad news has hit the music world today. Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" passed away Thursday afternoon due to cardiac arrest. Jackson was fifty years old.
Legendary Jackson producer and long-time friend, Quincy Jones released an official statement Thursday:
"I am absolutely devastated at this tragic and unexpected news. For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words.
Divinity brought our souls together on The Wiz and allowed us to do what we were able to throughout the 80's.
To this day, the music we created together on "Off The Wall," "Thriller" and "Bad" is played in every corner of the world and the reason for that is because he had it all…talent, grace, professionalism and dedication.
He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever."

Dave Matthews Band strikes again with its fifth-consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 as "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King" bows in the penthouse of the Billboard 200 with a whopping 424,000. Better still, it's the fifth-straight studio set from the group to open with a sales week of at least 400,000. O.A.R. frontman Marc Roberge is leveraging the Twitter phenomenon to his band's advantage! According to Billboard.com, his island-vibe roots-rock act is embracing the new social media website for a first-of-its-kind Tweet songwriting contest that will result in a new song being released exclusively via iTunes in October!
"I really kind of got into it with the first idea, 'Wouldn't it be cool if we could just kind of get together with the people and hear what they have to say lyrically?'" Roberge says. "And then I thought further about it and said, 'If I collected all of these lyrics from these people and wrote music inspired by it, it's truly like an original idea.' Beginning June 9, 2009 through July 7, fans can submit their lyrics, 140 characters at a time, to O.A.R.'s page at twitter.com/ofarevolution. The band will then pick three winning verses, a chorus, and a bridge that will make up the lyrics of the song. Roberge said in a perfect world, all five songwriting parts will come from different submissions. At that point, the winning song lyrics will be posted for fans to once again get involved by submitting potential song titles. The band will also be uploading video footage to Twitter throughout their summer tour so people can follow along and see the songwriting process.
