Should American Idol Hang Up The Mic?
Though last Tuesday's American Idol premiere saw a 10% slide in viewership from last season's opener, for the first time in five seasons, the second episode has gone up in the ratings.
Sources claim, Wednesday's episode grew 1% in adults 18-49, which is big news considering that the second episodes of the seasons have been dropping in ratings, notably, since 2004. Wednesday's show also retained 99% of its 2008 audience. Could the addition of a new judge, Kara DioGuardi, have helped Idol's ratings? Time will tell.
